Online Stores

Online stores that take MoMo.

Shopify and WordPress (WooCommerce) stores built for how Ghanaians pay. Mobile Money checkout through Paystack or Hubtel, a WhatsApp button for buyers who want to ask first, delivery options that match how you really deliver, and tracking wired so your ads learn from real orders. Live in 14 days, with two weeks of launch ads to get it moving.

From GHS 5,000 one-off (about US$430), excluding VAT.

Why a store, if you already sell on Instagram?

Selling in DMs works until it doesn't. Every order needs you to reply, send the price, share a MoMo number, wait for the payment screenshot and confirm delivery by hand. When you run ads, the chats pile up faster than you can answer, and buyers who wanted to pay at 11pm go to someone else.

A store lets a buyer see the price, pick a size and pay with MoMo on their own, day or night, while the WhatsApp button stays there for the ones who want to ask first. It also gives your ads somewhere to send people where every sale is counted.

Built for how Ghanaians pay

We put Mobile Money first at checkout, because that is how most of your customers pay: MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money through Paystack or Hubtel, with cards for the rest. Where you deliver across Accra or the regions, we set up delivery zones and fees, and pay-on-delivery if you offer it.

Before launch we place real test orders on every payment method on a phone, and check each one lands in your dashboard. A checkout that quietly fails on one payment method is the most expensive bug an online store can have.

What you get on launch day

A store on your own domain, designed around your brand, with your products loaded, MoMo and card payments working, delivery set up, and order alerts to your phone. The Meta Pixel, Conversions API and Google Analytics are installed and checked with a real order, and your Google Business Profile points to the store.

Then we run two weeks of launch ads to bring the first buyers in, and train you or your team to add products, fulfil orders and read the numbers yourselves. The store, the domain and the payment account are in your name.

  3. 03

Tracking is verified with a real test order, the store goes live on your domain, and two weeks of launch ads bring in the first buyers.

We train you or your team to add products, fulfil orders and read the numbers, and support you through the first month.

Questions

How much does it cost to build an online store in Ghana?

Maxme's Store Launch is a one-off GHS 5,000 (about US$430) on WordPress (WooCommerce) or GHS 6,000 (about US$517) on Shopify, excluding VAT, with MoMo checkout, WhatsApp, tracking and two weeks of launch ads. On top, you pay third parties directly: the Shopify plan (billed in dollars) or WordPress hosting, and payment fees.

Can customers pay with Mobile Money?

Yes. We connect Paystack or Hubtel so customers can pay with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money, as well as cards. Mobile Money is placed first at checkout because it is how most Ghanaian shoppers pay.

Does Shopify work in Ghana?

Yes. You can run a Shopify store from Ghana. Shopify's own payment system is not available here, so we connect Paystack for Mobile Money and card payments. WooCommerce on WordPress is the other option, with Paystack or Hubtel plugins.

Shopify or WooCommerce: which should I choose?

Shopify is simpler to run day to day and needs no hosting, but it bills monthly in dollars and adds app costs. WooCommerce has no platform fee and is more flexible, but it needs hosting and more upkeep. We recommend one in the free audit based on your products, budget and team.

How long does it take to build?

About 14 days from the day we have your product photos, prices and payment account details. Paystack or Hubtel account approval can take a few days, so we start that on day one.

Can I still sell on WhatsApp and Instagram?

Yes. The store adds a checkout, it does not replace your chats. There is a WhatsApp button on every product, and you get one link to put in your Instagram bio and share in DMs.

Do I own the store?

Yes. The store account, the domain and the payment account are all in your business's name. If you ever stop working with us, everything stays with you.
