A Facebook ads agency in Ghana costs about GHS 1,500 to GHS 6,000 a month in management fees at the time of writing (September 2026), going by the prices Ghanaian agencies publish. Freelancers charge from about GHS 500. Your ad budget is extra: you pay it to Meta by card, and Meta adds Ghana's 20% VAT and levies to every charge.
How much does it cost to hire a Facebook ad agency?
Going by the prices Ghanaian agencies publish, hiring one to run your Facebook and Instagram ads costs about GHS 1,500 to GHS 6,000 a month at the time of writing (September 2026). That is the management fee only. Full-service retainers that add content and organic posting start higher: Mckot Digital, for example, lists its full retainer from GHS 7,500 a month.
Few agencies print a price. Most ask you to book a call, so the table below lists only businesses that publish figures on their own sites, with what each says the price covers. Packages change, so open the source before you rely on a number. And compare like with like: a GHS 1,500 social media package built around posting is not the same product as ads management.
Our own prices sit in the table as one worked example, not as the benchmark. Maxme publishes three priced monthly plans on our pricing page, plus a custom Enterprise plan, all excluding VAT and with the ad budget paid to Meta or Google directly. The US dollar figures use the Bank of Ghana interbank mid-rate of 11.6157 cedis to the dollar on 24 September 2026.

How do Facebook ad agencies in Ghana charge?
Four fee structures show up in Ghana, sometimes combined in one quote. Ask which one you are being offered before you compare numbers, because a low monthly fee with a large setup charge can cost more over six months than a higher flat fee with none.
Each model moves the risk. A retainer rewards the agency for keeping you, not for growing your spend. A percentage rewards bigger budgets whether or not they sell. Mckot Digital states on its site that it takes no cut of your ad spend, and that is worth asking every agency to confirm in writing: does any part of my budget pass through you?
If you are quoted a percentage, ask for the fee in cedis at your planned budget and at double that budget, plus any monthly minimum. If you are quoted a package, ask whether it is monthly or one-off: GIET Worldwide's GHS 2,500 ads package lists campaign setup, pixel installation and reporting, but its shop page does not say which. The four structures:
- Monthly retainer: a fixed fee for running your ads, usually with a set number of new ads and a report. Every agency in the table above prices this way.
- Percentage of ad spend: the fee is a share of what you spend with Meta, so it rises whenever the budget rises. None of the Ghanaian agencies whose prices we found publish a percentage.
- Per campaign or one-off package: one price to set up and run a single campaign, for a launch or a sale. Useful for a test; ask what happens when it ends.
- Setup fee: a one-off charge for building the ad account, pixel, tracking and first campaigns, on top of the monthly fee.
How much is the ad budget on top of the agency fee?
The ad budget is separate from the agency fee and goes to Meta, not to the agency. Meta charges the card on your ad account as the ads run. The cedi is not one of Meta's accepted ad account currencies, so a Ghanaian ad account runs in another currency, such as US dollars. Our guide 'How to pay for Facebook and Instagram ads from Ghana' covers which cards work.
Meta adds Ghana VAT and levies to every ad charge for advertisers with a Ghana address. Under the VAT Act, 2025 (Act 1151), the Ghana Revenue Authority puts the combined rate at 20% from 1 January 2026: 15% VAT, 2.5% NHIL and 2.5% GETFund Levy. So GHS 3,000 of ads costs about GHS 3,600 once tax is added.
How big should the budget be? Mckot Digital suggests most small Ghanaian businesses plan GHS 1,500 to GHS 5,000 a month in ad spend, and BrandNerds gives the same range as an illustrative testing budget. GIET Worldwide's 2026 benchmark, built from 200 Ghana campaigns, put the typical cost of a WhatsApp or Messenger conversation at GHS 5.02. A conversation is not a sale, so plan around orders.
A worked example: a GHS 4,000 monthly fee, plus GHS 800 VAT on the fee if the agency charges it, plus GHS 3,000 of ads (about US$258 at the Bank of Ghana mid-rate; your card's rate will differ) and GHS 600 of VAT added by Meta. That is GHS 8,400 a month in total, of which GHS 3,000 buys ads.
How much do digital marketing agencies cost?
A full-service digital marketing agency, one that runs your posting, content and ads and sometimes your website and SEO, costs more than ads management alone. BrandNerds says starter packages may begin around GHS 2,500 a month. WebSys Technology estimates about GHS 72,000 a year for a broad agency service, which is GHS 6,000 a month, and lists digital marketing packages at GHS 3,000, GHS 4,500 and GHS 6,000.
Older guides quote lower numbers. Sidekick's 2023 breakdown put agencies at GHS 3,000 to 6,000 a month, and that article is now three years old. Treat any price range more than a year old as a starting point, not a quote, and ask each agency for its current rate card.
If what you need is sales from ads, a full retainer can be the wrong purchase. You pay for daily posts and page management that rarely move orders on their own, while the ads get a slice of the team's attention. Ask for the ads work priced by itself, then decide whether the posting is worth adding.
How much do social media managers charge in Ghana?
An employed social media manager in Accra earns about GHS 3,000 to GHS 7,000 a month in total pay, with a median near GHS 4,000, according to salaries shared on Glassdoor at the time of writing (September 2026). That is the salary alone, before employer costs such as SSNIT, a work phone, data and design tools.
Freelancers vary more. GIET Worldwide, which trains digital marketers, says beginners typically charge small businesses GHS 500 to GHS 1,000 a month, while experienced specialists who handle bigger ad budgets charge GHS 2,500 to GHS 5,000. The Ghana-based social media managers featured on Upwork's Ghana hiring page when we checked list US$10 to US$20 an hour.
Check what 'social media manager' means in the quote. Many handle posting, captions and comments but do not run Ads Manager campaigns, set up a pixel or track sales. That is useful work, but it is a different job from buying ads that sell, and the price should reflect which one you are getting.
What drives the price of a Facebook ads agency?
When we audit Ghanaian ad accounts, the costly gap is rarely the fee. It is what happens after the click: WhatsApp chats nobody answers for hours, a checkout where Mobile Money is hard to find, a pixel counting the wrong thing. Pay for the parts that fix those before you pay for more posts.
The fee itself follows the work. Two agencies quoting GHS 2,500 and GHS 6,000 can both be fair if one makes two new ads a month and the other makes eight and tracks every sale. These are the parts that move the price:
- Creative volume: how many new image and video ads you get each month. Video with real people and products costs more to make than a designed image.
- Platforms: Meta only, or Meta plus Google or TikTok. Each platform is another account to run.
- Tracking: a Meta Pixel and Conversions API set up so ads are judged on sales, not clicks.
- Replies: whether the agency answers WhatsApp and Instagram DMs or hands chats to your team.
- Reporting: weekly calls and a monthly report on orders take time; a PDF of screenshots does not.
- Complexity: more products, branches or cities mean more campaigns to build and watch.
What should you get for each price band?
These bands follow the published prices in the table above, not a market survey, so use them as a guide to what is reasonable to expect for the money. Whatever you pay, the ad account should be in your name and the report should show sales, not only reach.
If a quote sits in one band but promises the work of the band above, ask how. Eight new video ads a month for GHS 1,500 needs an explanation: templates, recycled posts or reused footage are all possible answers, and you should know which one you are buying. What to expect in each band:
- Under GHS 1,500 a month: usually a freelancer or a posting package. Expect boosted posts or one or two simple campaigns and a short monthly summary. Fine for a first test.
- GHS 1,500 to GHS 3,000: a small agency package or an experienced freelancer. Expect Ads Manager campaigns, a few new ads a month, a working pixel and a monthly report.
- GHS 3,000 to GHS 6,000: steady creative (four to eight new ads a month), tracking that ties ads to orders, weekly check-ins, and sometimes Google as well.
- Above GHS 6,000: full retainers with content and posting, several platforms or brands, video production, or large budgets that need daily attention.
What are the red flags when hiring a Facebook ads agency?
A cheap agency is not the risk. The risk is paying any fee for work you cannot check, in an account you do not control. The biggest warning sign is an agency that holds your ad account. Meta lets you give an agency partner access from your own business portfolio, and only the business that owns an asset can share it. If the ad account, Page or pixel sits in the agency's portfolio, you lose them when you leave.
The second is reporting that stops at reach and chats. Meta's 'messaging conversations started' counts people who message you for the first time or after 7 days of inactivity; it says nothing about who paid. The third is boosting sold as ads. Meta says boosted posts do not have as many customisation and detailed targeting options as a traditional Meta ad, as our guide 'Boost post or Ads Manager?' explains.
Be wary, too, of an ad budget paid to the agency with no Meta receipt in your business name; of offers to sell you an ad account, a Page or followers, which Meta's spam policy bans; and of guaranteed sales or a fixed cost per order before anyone has looked at your account, product or prices.
If you already pay an agency and cannot tell what it is buying you, Maxme's free Ads & Store Audit reviews your ads, Instagram or website and sends a short video with the three fixes that matter most on WhatsApp within 2 working days.
